March 2020 marks 17 years that I have worked as a plaintiff’s lawyer, following 17 years of practice as a defense lawyer.
This gives me the unique advantage of being able to see and understand, both sides of the case in dispute and which is particularly valuable in my Mediation practice. In Mediation, it is critical to see and quickly identify the real needs (as opposed to wants) of each side. If a mediator cannot do that well, he/she will not be successful in exploring possible solutions with the parties, to see which ones might work in getting the dispute resolved.
Most mediators come from one camp or the other. Few have as much experience on both sides as I do.
